Stay True to the Future – Double Diamond Direct Distributors Tsui Kit and Charis

In our everyday lives, many of us seem to be constantly in a race against the clock. The idea of slowing things down to enjoy our free time can seem like a pie-in-the-sky dream. Time treats everyone the same way – the big difference is how we make use of that time.

From Finite to Infinity

Having grown up with Amway, Tsui joined Amway when he was still a university student, witnessing the rapid development of his business as well as personal breakthroughs and enhancements. He was quickly able to achieve an outstanding business performance and was promoted to higher levels within just a few years – and his motivation lies in his family and the team.

As a father of two children, Tsui offers a proud smile when asked about his beloved kids. “As they grow up, we need to devote ourselves to our children and give them most of our time. They are our greatest motivating force for enjoying abundant free time so that we can be together with them as they grow,” Tsui explained.

“Actually, the time we have to spend together with our children is limited, as they will soon get their own friends and personal lives. So we should treasure being with them during the time they need us the most,” Charis shared. “Amway enables us to spend time with our children in a more flexible way, enabling them to feel the love we share as they grow. This helps to instil them in right values and I believe it’s our most precious gift to them.”

The unique feature about the Amway business is the strong team spirit. As a team-focused business, teamwork always comes first. “It is not easy for an individual to figure out his or her strengths or weaknesses when developing the business at the beginning. But as you achieve a higher level, you need to strengthen the relationship with your partners, forming stronger bonds and working to establish a stable team. The Amway business doesn’t refer to an individual business – it is truly a team business,” said Tsui.

Indeed, Tsui has always seen the development of his team as one of the top priorities. “When your team grows bigger, it means there are more partners joining the business. Partners in the team have different personalities and characters, and they have different ways of thinking, too. I wish to help them succeed by sharing my personal experience – this is another reason that motivates me to move forward. I believe this is my responsibility for sure.”

Looking back over his time in Amway, Tsui said he acquired a great deal of knowledge and skills from different leaders. “I’d like to thank them for their generous guidance and help over the years, which has enabled my Amway business to run in the right direction,” he shared, adding that “as a leader and in a leadership role today, I sincerely hope to help each partner in the team achieve their preferred and most promising future, according to their wishes.”


Mindset Shift to Manage Change

The future is where the heart lies. However, the outbreak of the pandemic shut down the world over the past couple of few years and affected people’s perceptions about doing business. “The business operating model was forced to change, shifting from offline to online,” Tsui said. “We were happy about being able to cultivate a variety of new skills under these special circumstances, and with rising internet penetration it is now feasible for us to coordinate an online meeting that caters for a 1,000-strong audience without any venue or time limitations.”

Tsui never previously thought that online activity would become the main development tool for establishing the Amway business. “However, due to the continuous changes in the social environment, the online development model is more suitable for today’s business needs,” he said. “The team has even established different online platforms to cater for different needs. We can connect each of our partners through diversified online activities even though they are not in Hong Kong, so this is also an opportunity for us to expand our international market!”

To Tsui, the one constant unchanging element in developing Amway is the need to accommodate change. “The changes we see in the future might be beyond our imagination. Many people think that online meetings that cannot raise the emotional temperature are not a good choice for communicating in a virtual world. But I believe that everyone will feel our hard work and dedication for sure if we manage with passion and heart,” he smiled, expressing his belief that the physical distance between people will not affect their connections and relationships.


Building Mutual Respect

“Sometimes I have a feeling that if my business performance is good, I might not need to put in much effort. Or I can just try my best and see what the result is. But my team always puts our goal at the top priority, which makes me more focused on achieving that goal. They feel happier than me when we reach the goal!” Tsui smiled, adding that partners in the team are a group of people who want to pursue personal enhancement and excellence together.

Staying true to his heart, Tsui sees it as his personal responsibility to help people become healthier. He said: we share the same philosophy as the Amway Co-founders whose aim was to help people live better, healthier lives. Since I joined Amway, I have been determined to establish this health-conscious business to the best of my ability.”


Playing Each Role Well

As a pediatrician, as well as a father and a bold leader, Tsui makes sure he plays each role to the best of his ability. “I always remind myself that the most important thing is to play my own part well. When you reach a new height in the business, you may think about slowing down your pace or taking a rest. There are many outstanding people in Amway and if you want to be one of them, you need to seek change continuously and set even higher goals. You cannot reach your new destination if you are not willing to change how you think,” he shared.

Looking back at each stage of his journey, Tsui said he feels satisfied. “I am just like a mobile phone that has been upgraded to a newer, better version!” he laughed. From Charis’s point of view, “I have witnessed how my husband pursued improvement from being a student to entering to the workplace. His resilience has helped him tackle the difficulties ahead, and his persistence and strong belief makes him the best role model for our children.”

Leading the team with heart and acting as a role model are both keys to Tsui’s success in the Amway business. “I’d like to help replicate my ability so that partners who are eager to work hard can achieve success in Amway,” he smiled.
