The newly released Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2025–2030 (January 2026) highlights two key points:
✅Reduce consumption of added sugar: Keep added sugar less than 10g per meal. Low-sugar diet is highly recommended.
✅ More protein intake: Adults now need 1.2g to 1.6g of protein per kilogram of body weight daily. That’s up to double what was previously recommended.
Research shows that when people increased their daily protein intake to 1.2g to 1.6g per kilogram of body weight, 67% of participants saw significant improvements - including reduced body fat and better muscle mass, plus sustained weight loss with no rebound.
Our recommendation:
🔸For an average adult male (65 kg) - aim for 104g of protein per day
🔸For an average adult female (45 kg) - aim for 54g of protein per day
