A global study*, with the participation of scholars from City University of Hong Kong, found contamination of common pharmaceuticals, like caffeine, nicotine and paracetamol, in many of the world’s rivers across all seven continents. In the long run, pharmaceuticals pose a potential threat to the ecosystem and human health.
