Before joining Amway, Melissa’s world revolved around fine jewelry and elegant prose. As editor-in-chief of a jewelry magazine, she enjoyed a career many would envy. Yet, every night, she was haunted by a mathematical dilemma: "How do I fund 60 years of life with only 30 years of work?”

"I started investing at 18 and spent my spare time freelancing and translating. My goal was simple: retire by 55," Melissa recalls. This meant compressing a lifetime of earnings into three decades — a heavy stone she carried daily. Traditional career paths offered no solution, until a former colleague introduced her to Amway.

When asked about the meaning of a healthy and happy life, Melissa offers her perspective: “Be grateful, grow every day, and have the ability to help others live healthier and happier lives.” Standing at a new milestone as an Emerald leader, Melissa is already looking further ahead. She plans to introduce more people to the opportunities Amway offers and to the positive environment it fosters. As she looks toward the Amway 70th Anniversary (A70), her mission is clear: helping others find their own path to health and happiness.

Her advice to those starting out? “First, be clear about your ‘why.’ Only a clear purpose can withstand the weight of rejection. Stay humble and keep learning from those who’ve walked the path — it’s the fastest way to succeed.” Melissa’s story isn't just about a Chief Editor's transformation into a business leader.
