Chrysanthemums are renowned for their medicinal and health benefits, including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, earning them the title of "the premier flower for wellness”. However, the wide variety types of Chrysanthemums, including Chuju, Boju, Gongju, Huaiju and Hangju, makes it difficult for consumers to choose from the market.
To identify chrysanthemum varieties with the highest medicinal value, the research and development team of Amway Botanical Center employed ultra-high performance liquid chromatography to create fingerprint profile.
After screening more than 130 cultivated chrysanthemum varieties, the team strictly selected high-quality Hang Bai Ju variety. Hang Bai Ju has multiple layers of petals and a large flower diameter, and it contains exceptionally high levels of total flavonoids and chlorogenic acid - both of which are crucial for maintaining eye health.
Overcoming cultivation bottlenecks to create dual organic-certified bases
Hang Bai Ju is particularly susceptible to pests, so farmers used a lot of pesticides to maintain the yield. As a result, the market faced severe issues with heavy metal and pesticide residues in Hang Bai Ju, making it difficult to find Hang Bai Ju that met Nutrilite's green production standards.
