Amway Botanical Research Center - Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Ancient traditional Chinese medicine understood the properties and toxicity of Chinese herbal medicines through experience and practice. Today, with the efforts of the research team of Amway Botanical Research Center, we can identify plant DNA through DNA barcode technology. With this technology, it can help our scientists select the best suitable and quality varieties of Chinese herbal medicines, providing optimal health benefits for products and achieving the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine.

In 2017, our research team collaborated with the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences’ Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, making significant progress in the study of whole genome of chrysanthemums. The team completed the discovery of full-length transcriptome genetic information for important medicinal chrysanthemum varieties, making China the first country in the world to complete the whole genome sequencing of chrysanthemum plants.
